Jobs of the week: Carlyle, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase and Cambridge are hiring

The Carlyle Group is seeking a vice president of portfolio management at its New York office. Duties include maintenance of and adherence to internal risk policies that govern all aspects of the business; oversight of various underwriting and portfolio management processes and templates; and front-office supervision of valuation, capital call and new deal funding requirements and processes. Applicants should have eight plus years-related experience.

JPMorgan Chase is hiring a vice president and performance analytics officer for its investment director team. The hire will be responsible for streamlining and aligning the firm’s third party funds’ investment approval and performance governance processes with the due diligence teams across multiple fund structures. Also, he or she will perform internal product due diligence, including performance and risk analysis for on-boarding new strategies as well as monitoring on an ongoing basis. Candidates should have experience in investment management risk, audit and/or controls. A strong financial mathematical/statistics/economics background is essential; a master’s degree or CFA is a plus. The job is in London.

Morgan Stanley Energy Partners is interviewing for pre-MBA private equity associates for its New York and Houston teams. The associates will be heavily involved in the evaluation, structuring, negotiation and financing of transactions, as well as in the implementation of operational improvements at portfolio companies. Although the position is a two-year commitment, “exceptional performers” will be considered for a third year. Candidates should have a minimum of one to two years’ experience at a leading investment bank, energy corporation or management consulting firm.

Cambridge Associates is looking to hire an advisory services associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination and execution of investment decisions related to the oversight of investment programs of client institutions and family groups. This includes coordinating and facilitating communication between clients, investment consultants and staff, external investment managers, bank custodians, attorneys and other relevant parties. The job is in Menlo Park, California.

Robert W. Baird & Co is recruiting for a portfolio specialist. The hire will work with the portfolio managers and other portfolio specialist in managing and reviewing portfolios, as well as implementing various investment and financial planning strategies for a diverse client base. Also, he or she will assist portfolio managers in the preparation and timely delivery of market and investment communications to clients. A CFA designation is desired; Series 7/66 licenses will be required within a specified period of time. The position is in Cincinnati.
