Jobs of the Week: Venture, Mezz and Alternative Investment at CalPERS, HarbourVest, JP Morgan, UBS and SVB

This week there are a handful of venture, mezzanine and alternative investment associate positions up for grabs as well as a senior position as director of institutional alternative investments at UBS financial Services.

Growth stage venture firm SJF Ventures is seeking an analyst/associate for its New York, San Francisco, and Durham, NC office. This role is expected to be a two to three year position.

Moving onto positions within fund-of-funds groups, the currently fundraising Pathway Capital is hiring for an investment analyst based in the Orange County, California Area
responsible for monitoring

Also on the fund-of-funds side, industry veteran HarbourVest is recruiting for a direct portfolio associate, marketing and research analyst and senior marketing specialist all based in Boston. The firm is also seeking a direct associate for its London office.

Investment banks currently scouting for private equity professionals in the Greater New York City Area include J.P. Morgan for an associate within its alternative investments group and the above-mentioned UBS Financial Services for a director of institutional alternative investments reporting to the head of alternative investments.

Finally on the pension funds side, the $255 billion California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is advertising various positions for private equity-focused investment officers. See positions for investment officer I (limited term); investment officer II and investment officer III.

Sending you over the pond to London, the $173 billion CPP Investment Board is hiring for a senior principal, funds to lead deal teams in making and managing private equity fund investments globally, with a focus on the European market.

The pension fund is also hiring in Toronto, Canada for a portfolio administrator responsible for the ongoing day-to-day transaction processing and monitoring of the direct private equity and infrastructure portfolios and also for a manager, investment finance – private investments managing the team that supports the direct private equity and infrastructure teams.
