PRESS RELEASE
International law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Jonathan Angell will be joining the firm later in April as a partner in its Corporate & Securities practice in London. Prior to joining Dechert, Jonathan was a partner in Ashurst’s London office.
Jonathan will focus his practice on advising companies – both listed and unlisted – and equity finance providers on large and complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions and joint ventures, especially in the private equity and energy sectors. His expertise in the energy sector extends to downstream oil and gas, coal bed methane, solar, carbon credits and energy regulation. He also has extensive experience advising clients on fund structures.
He is also a high profile author and commentator in the private equity space, lecturing regularly both generally on corporate law issues and on private equity matters for the BVCA, International Bar Association and other legal and business organizations.
“We are delighted to have Jonathan joining our team,” said James Croock, head of Dechert’s UK Corporate and Securities practice. “His extensive private equity experience will boost our well regarded practice in this area, while his energy expertise offers great synergies with our newly opened Russian practice. This is a very positive development for the firm and highlights our commitment to expanding our European corporate practice.”
Said Jonathan: “Dechert’s strength in the corporate space offers both a compelling global platform for my clients and for expanding my practice.”
