KKR-backed Savant Systems to buy GE’s lighting business

GE has agreed to sell its lighting business to KKR-backed Savant Systems Inc.

GE has agreed to sell its lighting business to KKR-backed Savant Systems Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. UBS Investment Bank acted as lead financial advisor to GE. The deal is expected to close in mid-2020.

BOSTON, Mass.—May 27, 2020—GE (NYSE:GE) announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Lighting business to Savant Systems, Inc., an industry leader in the professional smart home space. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The proposed transaction includes a long-term licensing agreement for use of the GE brand. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in mid-2020. UBS Investment Bank acted as lead financial advisor to GE.
