Knewton Raises $2.5 Million

Knewton, a New York-based online education startup run by former venture capitalist Jose Ferreira, has raised $2.5 million in Series A funding, according to a regulatory filing. Backers include Accel Partners and First Round Capital.

Simon Levene of Accel's London office and Josh Kopelman of First Round have taken board seats.
