Kramer Leaving Goldman for Quadrangle

Doug Kramer has agreed to join Quadrangle Group as a managing principal and chief operating officer. He is a partner with Goldman Sachs, where he has served as head of the global manager strategies group.

Quadrangle Group LLC (“Quadrangle”), a private investment firm, announced today that Doug Kramer, a Partner of Goldman Sachs, will join the firm as a Managing Principal and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Kramer will be based in New York. He will oversee all of the firm's non-investment operations as well as its strategic development. He will also be closely involved in developing Quadrangle Asset Management (“QAM”), a new investment vehicle whose formation was announced recently.

Mr. Kramer brings significant organizational and investment management experience to Quadrangle. At Goldman Sachs, he served as head of the Global Manager Strategies Group and was responsible for overseeing the identification, evaluation, selection and monitoring of managers across all traditional asset classes. Mr. Kramer joined Goldman Sachs in 1999 and became a Managing Director in 2003 and a Partner in 2006.

Quadrangle recently announced that it formed QAM to provide comprehensive asset allocation and manager selection, plan implementation, and on-going risk management to meet the specified investment goals of its founding investors. QAM will not provide these services to additional third parties.

Steven Rattner, a Managing Principal of Quadrangle, said, “Doug is a terrific addition to our team. His operating experience at Goldman Sachs and his strong track record in portfolio management make him the perfect person to help maximize Quadrangle's potential. This is a very exciting time at Quadrangle. In just the last year we have opened offices in London and Silicon Valley and announced plans to open an office in Hong Kong, in addition to our major new initiative, QAM. We are confident that with the addition of Doug, we are well positioned to effectively manage our growth and to continue to add value to our investments.”

Mr. Kramer said, “Quadrangle is one of the most highly respected investment firms in the world. I am very enthusiastic about becoming part of the team and look forward to working with my new colleagues.”

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Doug was a director of Columbia Energy Services in Houston Texas, where he managed derivatives portfolios throughout 1999. Prior to Columbia, he was a portfolio manager at Fischer Francis Trees and Watts in New York from 1993 to 1999. Mr. Kramer received his BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and his MBA, with Beta Gamma Sigma honor, from Columbia University in 1999.
