F. Stephen Larned and Daniel Lieber have joined Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe as senior operating executives. Larned most recently served as chief marketing and strategy officer for DigitalGlobe Inc., while Lieber was chief operating officer for Union Site Management.
Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (the “Firm”), the largest private equity investor in information/business services and healthcare, today announced that it has named F. Stephen (Steve) Larned and Daniel (Dan) Lieber, as Senior Operating Executives. Larned served most recently as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at DigitalGlobe, Inc. Lieber joins the Firm from his recent position as Chief Operating Officer at Unison Site Management.
Larned and Lieber will be members of the WCAS Resources Group, which is currently comprised of 13 Senior Operating Executives who utilize their industry expertise and relationships to assist in deal sourcing, due diligence and implementation of operational initiatives within the Firm's portfolio companies. Over the last several years, Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe has significantly built out its team of Senior Operating Executives to enhance its operational focus.

Larned, Jr. is joining Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe from DigitalGlobe, Inc., a leading global provider of high resolution satellite and aerial imagery, where he served as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer.
Larned previously worked at Dell, Inc. in a variety of positions including, Vice President, Servers and Storage, Dell Americas and Vice President, Marketing, Dell Americas where he significantly increased revenue growth and enhanced operating performance. He also led equity value enhancement projects for Industrial and Consumer clients while a Manager and Consultant at Bain & Company for twelve years. Larned holds an A.B. from Duke University and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Dan Lieber previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Unison Site Management, a specialty investment company that purchases and manages wireless lease rights. From 1998 to 2005, Lieber served as an Operating Principal at Capital Z Financial Services Fund, where he was responsible for overall portfolio management and served on the board of several public and private companies. Lieber previously held leadership positions at AT&T Capital, GE Capital Services, Bankers Trust, Bain & Company and Price Waterhouse. Lieber holds a B.S. and M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
