LDC Boosts Manchester Team

UK private equity firm LDC has added to its presence in the North West of England with the appointment of Catherine Houghton.

Houghton joins LDC’s Manchester office as investor director. She was previously at Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance having worked as for PricewaterhouseCoopers on their private equity advisory team before that.

Her appointment creates a seven-strong team at LDC’s Manchester office headed by Carl Wormald and Ray Stenton.

Darryl Eales, chief executive of LDC, said: “Despite the well publicised turbulence in the transaction arena, research shows that deals in the £5m to £50m range in the North West increased year on year. This clearly demonstrates the resilience of locally-sourced mid-market deals, which are the bedrock of LDC’s regional focus.

“But we can’t wait around for deals to happen. Our regional team needs the right level of resource in order to stimulate and drive new activity across the patch and transact those opportunities that offer potential for significant value creation. That’s why Catherine’s appointment is so crucial.”
