Jim Beecher, President
Jim Beecher is Executive Vice President of Simplify Compliance and President of Argosy Group, the financial services division of the company. He serves as President of Buyouts Insider, a business which he has led since 2005, which is part of Argosy. Jim sets the course for company strategy and handles corporate development for the unit.
In 2014, Jim led the buyout of Buyouts Insider from Thomson Reuters, where he was Global Business Manager of Private Equity and served as General Manager for the company’s media assets in private equity, which include many of the brands that comprise Buyouts Insider today.
Prior to this, Jim served as Chief Operating Officer at VentureOne/Asset Alternatives, a unit of Wicks Business Information that was sold to Dow Jones in 2004. Previously he spent many years in management and business development roles at Euromoney Institutional Investor.
In what now seems like centuries ago, Jim kicked off his career as an award-winning journalist at The Express-Times in Easton, Pa. He holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BA from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
Mark Cecil, Vice President and General Manager
Mark Cecil is Vice President and General Manager of Buyouts Insider and PartnerConnect Events. He is an innovator in the private equity and venture capital space. A former journalist and editor for Reuters News, Mark is an experienced leader who heads the sales, marketing, software, content and strategy teams for the multi-million dollar PartnerConnect enterprise. As the creator of PartnerConnect’s pioneering ExecConnect 1:1 meetings program and online community, Mark has helped source billions of dollars in capital commitments. During Mark’s tenure, PartnerConnect has grown tenfold, from a single conference to the preferred live events series for thousands of industry professionals annually.
James Gale, Director of Sales
Jim Gale is the Director of Sales at Argosy Group where he runs the Circulation Subscription Sales Teams for Buyouts Insider/Venture Capital Journal, Regulatory Compliance Watch, Credit Union Directors and RCW Compliance Conferences. Jim has a history of taking Sales teams and having an immediate impact on the Sales pipeline, personnel and results and output through reinvigorated Sales management, team leadership and strategy, and a renewed focus on Sales output and personnel. Jim joined Argosy Group in October of 2014.
Prior to this, Jim was the Senior Vice President of Sales for Congressional Quarterly for 18 years, a division of the Economist Magazine of London. During his time at Congressional Quarterly, Jim orchestrated a sales effort that increase New Sales at an 8x multiplier and moved the Sales Revenue needle at a 5x multiplier over the years. He sat on the Senior Team Executive Committee for Congressional Quarterly under three separate CEO’s due to his expertise in Sales and getting the most out of his sales teams.
Jim started his Sales career as a Sales Representative for the Westinghouse Corporation, and continued his award-winning Sales career as a Sales Representative for Dun & Bradstreet, and then moved to be a Sales Representative at the Bureau of National Affairs/Bloomberg. Jim graduated from Shepherd University with a BS degree in Business Administration.
