Lee Equity promotes five

Lee Equity Partners has promoted five of its investment professionals. Geoffrey Lieberthal, Rahul Nand and Collins Ward have become partners; Eric Hsu is now a vice president and John Ettinger has been upped to senior associate.


NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lee Equity Partners, a New York based private equity firm focused on middle market buyout investments in growth companies, today announced the promotion of five investment professionals. Geoffrey Lieberthal, Rahul “Billy” Nand and Collins Ward were promoted to Partner; Eric Hsu was promoted to Vice President; and John Ettinger was promoted to Senior Associate.

Geoffrey Lieberthal
Geoffrey Lieberthal from Principal to Partner. Prior to joining Lee Equity as a Principal in 2012, Mr. Lieberthal was a Principal at Texas Pacific Group. Prior to Texas Pacific Group, he was a Vice President at Bain Capital Partners and a Consultant at Bain & Company. His transaction background includes retail, healthcare and generalist transactions. Mr. Lieberthal serves on the board of directors of Paragon Industries and Eating Recovery Center. Geoff received an M.B.A from Stanford Business School and a B.A. from Dartmouth College with cum laude honors.

Rahul “Billy” Nand
Rahul Nand from Principal to Partner. His responsibilities include investment thesis generation and sourcing, structuring, execution, monitoring, exit strategy and portfolio management. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2007 as an Associate, Mr. Nand was a Senior Business Analyst in the Corporate Finance Practice at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Nand serves on the boards of KMAC Holdings, Corp, Cross MediaWorks, LLC, and Captive Resources, LLC. Billy received a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois.

Collins Ward
Collins Ward from Principal to Partner. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2006 as an Associate, Mr. Ward was a Senior Associate Consultant in the Private Equity Practice and the Strategic Consulting Practice of Bain & Company. Mr. Ward serves on the boards of Interluxe Holdings, LLC, Aimbridge Hospitality, LLC, and Prelude Fertility, Inc. Mr. Ward received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and upon graduating participated in the U.S. Fulbright program as a German Scholar in Engineering. Collins graduated with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.

Eric Hsu
Eric Hsu from Senior Associate to Vice President. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2013 as an Associate, Mr. Hsu was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. Eric received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College.

John Ettinger
John Ettinger from Associate to Senior Associate. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2015, Mr. Ettinger was a Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. John received a B.A. in Economics from Yale University with summa cum laude honors.
