Trinity Consultants said Thursday has closed its sale of a controlling stake to Levine Leichtman Capital Partners. Gryphon Investors was the seller. The deal was announced in August. Dallas-based Trinity is an environmental consulting firm that provides air quality compliance and permitting services. William Blair acted as lead advisor to Trinity and Gryphon, while Harris Williams and Lincoln International served as co-advisors on the transaction.

Trinity Consultants, an international environmental consulting firm that specializes in industrial air quality issues, announced today that it has partnered with Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP), a Los Angeles-based private equity firm to purchase Gryphon Investors’ controlling interest in the Company. Trinity management and employees will maintain significant equity ownership in the Company following the transaction. John E. (Jay) Hofmann, Trinity’s President/CEO since 2001, remains at the helm.
