Lincoln International U.K. expands its Consumer presence with Alex Masters joining the firm’s London office as Managing Director in the Global Consumer Group
Lincoln International, a leading global mid-market investment bank, proudly announced today that Alex Masters has joined the firm’s London office. Alex will serve as Head of Lincoln’s Consumer Group in the U.K., expanding the firm’s presence in the Consumer sector within the U.K. market.
Lincoln International’s Consumer Group, which has over 20 dedicated senior sector experts internationally, is a leading global advisor to the mid-market with over 300 completed advisory assignments in the Consumer sector. The team is focused on providing long-term, trusted strategic financial advice to companies and financial sponsors based on differentiated sector expertise, deep industry relationships, customised solutions and excellent transaction execution.
Alex joins Lincoln with over 20 years of M&A advisory experience, 16 of which have been in the Consumer sector, executing both sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions for private equity clients, publicly traded companies and privately held businesses, including family-owned. Alex’s advisory expertise is centred around the Food & Beverage sub-sector, having worked for brands such as Chupa Chups, Kettle Foods, Pataks, Cadbury, McCormick and Kellogg. Prior to joining Lincoln, Alex worked at Ernst & Young, Rothschild, Lehman Brothers and PwC.
Alex will lead the London Consumer practice, building on the success of recent Consumer transactions, such as the 2016 sale of rhubarb to Livingbridge EP. Having founded Rothschild’s Consumer practice in Asia and worked on a number of cross-border transactions, Alex will focus on origination and execution of M&A transactions, working closely with colleagues across Lincoln’s 19 offices in 14 countries to increase the firm’s cross-border deal delivery capabilities.
Phillip McCreanor, Head of the U.K. at Lincoln International, commented, “We are delighted that Alex Masters is joining Lincoln International to head our UK Consumer Group. Alex’s advisory experience, industry expertise and cross-border credentials are extremely impressive and align with Lincoln’s strategy to grow through sector-led expertise.”
Alex Masters commented, “When considering my transition, I met with many advisory firms and found that Lincoln was impressively set up to serve its clients. Being owned by its founders and senior executives, Lincoln has patiently built an effective global practice, it has an inclusive and highly collegiate culture and its advice on timing is untainted by the need to meet public earnings targets. For me, as a Consumer sector adviser, Lincoln’s extensive track record and senior sector network made my move a very natural transition into a firm committed to delivering high quality, independent and objective client-focused results. I am very much looking forward to helping to accelerate Lincoln’s U.K. and European Consumer franchise.”
