Louisiana-Pacific names Canadian manager to integrate Brookfield’s Ainsworth Lumber

U.S. forest products company Louisiana-Pacific Corp (NYSE: LPX) has appointed M.J. “Mac” Palmiere as its Canadian regional operations manager, effective December 2nd. Based in Vancouver, Palmiere will oversee the integration of Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd into the business. Louisiana-Pacific in September agreed to buy Ainsworth, a Vancouver-based manufacturer of homebuilding products, in a deal valued at around US$1.1 billion. The acquisition, which is expected to be completed in early 2014, will provide an exit to Brookfield Capital Partners, the private equity arm of Brookfield Asset Management, which invested in the company’s restructuring in 2008. Update: Torys LLP represented Brookfield in the deal.
