PRESS RELEASE

Madrona Venture Group, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Seattle, today announced the hiring of David Rosenthal as Principal and Todd Davis as Senior Talent Professional.

David returns to Madrona after completing his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. As a Principal, David will be primarily responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investments and will work closely with Madrona’s Managing Directors to help accelerate the growth of existing portfolio companies. David first joined Madrona in 2010 as an Associate before departing in 2012 for Stanford. During his time as an Associate, he led the diligence process on several investments and participated as a board observer for several portfolio companies. While at Stanford, David worked at Meritech Capital Partners, a leading late-stage venture capital firm in Palo Alto, and was a member of the accelerator program team at StartX, a non-profit accelerator for startups founded by Stanford students, faculty and recent alumni. Prior to Madrona, David worked as an investment banker in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications group at UBS and in the Strategy, Corporate Development and Ventures group at The Wall Street Journal.

“We could not be more excited to welcome David back to our team,” said Greg Gottesman, managing director of Madrona Venture Group. “He is such a unique talent. Our entrepreneurs just raved about working with him. We are confident he will make a big impact for Madrona and the broader entrepreneurial community.”

Todd Davis joins Madrona in the talent group, with a focus on fulfilling engineering positions at Madrona’s portfolio companies. Todd comes to Madrona with more than a decade of experience in technology and startup talent sourcing. He was most recently at ADP as a technology recruiter. Prior to ADP, Todd ran his own recruiting business, successfully working with technology companies including Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo. Todd is a regular speaker on topics ranging from sourcing techniques to recruiting tools at talent acquisition events such as SourceCon and Talent42. Todd joins Hakon Verespej, an engineer turned recruiter, in the Madrona talent group headed by Robin Andrulevich.

“Our companies have told us that finding truly great engineers is their biggest, most important challenge,” said Robin Andrulevich, talent director at Madrona Venture Group. “Bringing on Todd is our response to helping companies address that recruiting challenge. He takes our technology recruiting efforts to that next level, and he has already helped some of our companies make some great hires.”
