Steve Rose has more than 30 years of experience in corporate, financial and business-to-business communications, media relations, marketing communications, issues and crisis management, mergers & acquisitions and litigation support. He has advised clients in a broad range of industries, including hedge funds, private equity, financial services, wealth management, professional services, turnaround management, law, healthcare, medical devices, chemicals, plastics and information technology.
Before forming The Rose Group, Steve was an EVP at Hullin Metz. During a nine-year tenure, he developed and led a global media relations program that helped an LA-based hedge fund grow from $130M to more than $1.3B AUM. He also provided strategic counsel and media relations support to an internationally known PE firm specialized in buying bankrupt and other distressed businesses. Clients also included a Paris-based quant fund and a bipartisan committee of business, financial and academic experts focused on reforming capital markets regulation in the US.
Prior to HM, Steve was senior director of media relations for US Surgical Corporation. As the company’s chief media strategist and chief spokesperson, he advised management on marketing communications, product launches, M&A, restructuring, shareholder litigation, healthcare reform, FDA actions, patent litigation and animal rights.
Steve was also a VP at two leading agencies, Hill & Knowlton and Bozell. Clients included: Allergan, BF Goodrich, Burlington Industries, Clifford Chance, Dow, DuPont, Herman Miller, Homequity, Kodak, Minolta, Monsanto, Northrop, Procter & Gamble, Society of the Plastics Industry.
