Merrill Hires Jean-Eudes Renier

LONDON, May 14 (Reuters) – U.S.-based investment bank Merrill Lynch (MER.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it hired Jean-Eudes Renier from rival Morgan Stanley (MS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) as a managing director in its European multi-industries origination team.

Renier, who was a managing director for Morgan Stanley's basic materials group, will focus at Merrill Lynch on deal ideas in building products, packaging and paper and forest products across Europe, the Middle east and Africa, said the bank.

He will be based in London and report to Hugh Sullivan, global head of multi-industries origination, said Merrill Lynch.

Renier is Merrill Lynch's second high-profile hire from Morgan Stanley in less than a week.
