Diagnostyka, which is backed by Mid Europa Partners, said Wednesday that it has closed its buy of Consilio. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, Consilio will be renamed Diagnostyka Consilio. Based in Poland, Consilio is a provider of pathology exams.
Diagnostyka Sp. z o.o., the leading provider of laboratory tests in Poland jointly controlled by Mid Europa Partners (“Mid Europa”) and the founders, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Olympus Consilio Sp. z o.o. (“Consilio” or “the Company”), the leading provider of pathology examinations in Poland. This transaction marks a further step in Mid Europa’s strategy to consolidate the Central European laboratory market. Earlier this week, Mid Europa announced the acquisition of Euromedic Labs in the Czech Republic.
Consilio, which after the transaction will change its name to Diagnostyka Consilio, offers pathology examinations to hospitals, clinics and individual medical practices, through a state-of-the-art laboratory located in Łódź. Last year, the Company performed approximately 140,000 histopathology tests and 100,000 cytopathology examinations.
Jakub Swadźba, founder and co-owner of Diagnostyka said: “We are very pleased to have completed the acquisition of Consilio, which will enable Diagnostyka to broaden its service offering to the very attractive and growing pathology segment. We are highly committed to continue to invest in our pathology segment by opening new pathology labs and through acquisitions.”
Paweł Padusiński, Director of Mid Europa, commented: “The acquisition of Consilio, which will be financed with Diagnostyka’s own resources, represents a significant step in the development of Diagnostyka into specialised examinations. It further demonstrates our strong commitment to consolidate the Polish laboratory market.
Since Mid Europa’s investment in 2011, Diagnostyka has completed close to 20 add-on acquisitions, representing in total over 15 million laboratory tests per year.” Paweł Padusiński, Jan Krzewiński and Artur Sieńczewski supported Diagnostyka’s management in executing the transaction.
