Mike Franks Leaves SVB for First Republic

Mike Franks has joined First Republic Bank as a managing director in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. He previously was with Silicon Valley Bank as a managing director and direct or private equity services.


First Republic Bank, a leading provider of private banking and wealth management services, today announced that Mike Franks, a senior banker with extensive experience working with private equity and venture capital clients in Silicon Valley, has been named Managing Director.

Franks has more than 20 years of banking experience in Silicon Valley and is located at the bank’s Palo Alto office at 2275 El Camino Real. Franks will work with a team of First Republic bankers dedicated to venture capital, private equity, real estate funds and investment management clients at the bank’s offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.

First Republic has a full suite of products designed specifically for the needs of private equity and venture capital clients, including lending services, deposit services, foreign currency, letters of credit, and online banking, as well as business escrows, brokerage, securities custody, and cash management.

Prior to joining First Republic, Franks worked for Silicon Valley Bank for 10 years, most recently as Managing Director and Director of Private Equity Services. Earlier in his career, Franks worked for Greater Bay Bank and Comerica Bank in the San Jose area. Franks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Jose State University.
