SouthStar Urgent Care, which is backed by Shore Capital Partners, said July 10 that Laura Miller was appointed president and chief operating officer of the company. Clayt Hulin, SouthStar’s ex-CEO, will continue to support the company as executive adviser.

Industry Veteran to Continue to Serve as Chief Operating Officer; Company Announces Additional Promotions and New Hire

Lafayette, Louisiana, July 10, 2019 – SouthStar Urgent Care, a leading provider of urgent care services and clinics in Louisiana and portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners (Shore Capital), a leading lower middle market healthcare private equity firm, today announced that Laura Miller was recently appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. This leadership change, supported by the SouthStar Urgent Care Board of Directors, took effect in spring of 2019. Former Chief Executive Officer Clayt Hulin will continue to support SouthStar Urgent Care’s mission as an Executive Advisor.

Laura Miller joined the SouthStar team in November 2018 as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Miller brings more than 20 years of executive healthcare leadership experience from public, private and private equity-backed companies including Vermilion, Roche and LabCorp. Her experience and skills in commercial, operational excellence, growth and strategy will help continue to strengthen our relationship with patients.

In addition to the appointment of Ms. Miller, SouthStar Urgent Care also announced the following promotions:
· Frank Garber as Medical Operations Officer;
· Emily Arceneaux as Senior Vice President of Operations;
· Jessilyn David as Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience;
· Lindsey Fontenot as Senior Director of Operations; and
· Ashley Breaux as Controller.

Renee Berard was also hired as Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness.

Over the last 12 months, SouthStar Urgent Care has grown from three clinics to 10, including one acquisition. SouthStar anticipates having 19 clinics in operation by the end of 2019 and opening an additional 18 clinics in 2020.
