MissionOG, a Philadelphia-based investment firm, has named Rob Metzger as a general partner. In his new role, Metzger will serve as a member of the investment committee for upcoming MissionOG funds.
For the past five years, Metzger has served as senior advisor to MissionOG. In that role, he successfully helped source portfolio companies Bento, Infinicept, Solovis (which was acquired by Nasdaq) and Venminder.
Prior to MissionOG, Metzger was a partner and managing director at William Blair, where he oversaw over 150 M&A and fundraising transactions within the financial services and technology investment banking groups. Other highlights of Metzger’s work background includes stints at ABN Amro Incorporated, A.T. Kearney, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Currently, Metzger is a clinical assistant professor of finance and the director of the Investment Banking Academy at the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He’s also a senior director at William Blair.
Metzer has an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Northwestern University.
