Missouri state pension loses private equity head

There’s been some movement around the US public pension world recently.

David Felix, former principal at Mercer, joined the Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System in June, with the title of director, alternative investments.

Felix works on the team headed by Lauren Lenfest, managing director of the alternative investments program, which includes private equity and venture capital. Felix in the past has worked as director of private markets at Syracuse University and manager of private equity/investment officer at the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System, where he spent eight years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Also, Tricia Scrivner, head of private equity, hedge funds and real assets at the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System, is leaving to join the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies as head of real assets strategies. Scrivner spent 15 years at MOSERS, most recently running the Alpha Strategies team, which includes private equity, real assets and hedge funds. She also held the titles of manager of hedge fund investments, manager of alternative investments and investment officer for fixed income at MOSERS.

No word whether MOSERS will commence a search for a direct replacement; however. For now the Alpha Strategies is being run by Pat Neylon, manager of liquid alpha strategies, and Scott Peppard, manager of illiquid strategies.
