The funding is intended to help develop the company’s cloud-computing VoIP telecommunications platform. Founded in 2006, Modulis has more than 10,000 users connected to its Asterisk-based infrastructure in North America and Europe.

MONTREAL, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ – Modulis, a leading Montreal-based provider of business VoIP services, is receiving $400,000 in financing intended to facilitate the development of a cloud-computing VoIP telecommunications platform. With the advent of this new technology, Modulis will be able to conquer foreign markets and offer service providers, institutions and governments a competitive solution.
“The financing is provided jointly by the Business Development Bank of Canada, Investissement Québec and the National Bank,” said Adrien Laurent, President of Modulis. He added that securing this financial assistance follows nicely on the telecommunications company’s acquisition of x1Office’s VoIP division last May.
The completion of this new cloud-based platform technology, specifically dedicated to telecommunications, marks the attainment of one of Modulis’s objectives: to become the benchmark in the development of turnkey VoIP services and solutions for businesses.
