Morgan Joseph Makes Clarke, Tang MDs

Morgan Joseph TriArtisan said Tuesday that Stephen Clarke was named an MD in the firm’s industrial investment banking group. Also, Michael Manocchio, of the healthcare IB group, and Matthew McLeod, of technology IB, were each promoted to VP. And, Jo-Ku Tang, who joined Morgan Joseph as a controller in 2001, was named an MD and CFO.


Morgan Joseph TriArtisan LLC (“MJTA”) today named Stephen M. Clarke, Jr., a 13-year Wall Street veteran, a Managing Director in the firm’s Industrial Investment Banking Group.  In addition, Michael Manocchio, in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group, and Matthew McLeod, a member of the Technology Investment Banking Group, were both promoted to Vice President.

Jo-Ku Tang, who joined MJTA as Controller in 2001, was also named a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Clarke, 39, joined MJTA in 2004 and has been a Principal since 2008.  As a member of the Industrial Investment Banking Group, he is headquartered in New York City where he focuses on infrastructure, transportation, logistics, environmental and facilities services sectors.  At the time he joined MJTA, he was a Director of Investment Banking at CapitalKey Advisors LLC & Capital IQ, Inc., advising small to mid-sized companies and helping develop the Capital IQ software platform.  Previously he was a co-founder and vice president of Synergy Capital LLC, a firm involved in consolidating convenience stores, and a consultant to HMG Realty Advisors LLC, the commercial real estate investment arm of The McCarthy Group, an Omaha, Nebraska-based investment bank and private equity fund.  He is a graduate of Duke University, where he majored in history.

Mr. McLeod, 34, prior to joining MJTA’s San Francisco-based Technology Investment Banking Group in 2010, was associated with a private investment firm dealing in special situations in the technology sector  and as an investment banker at Lazard Ltd. in its technology media & telecommunications group in San Francisco.  He previously was a management consultant in the strategy group at Deloitte Consulting and Accenture.  Mr. McLeod holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from McGill University.  He has completed post-graduate studies in finance and economics at the London School of Economics.

Mr. Manocchio, 30, was a senior financial analyst in the corporate finance department of Kerzner International North America, Inc., before joining the Miami, FL, offices of MJTA’s Healthcare Investment Banking Group two years ago.  He also was an associate in the Structured Asset Finance unit of Wachovia Capital Markets, following his graduation from Columbia University’s Business School, from which he received an MBA.   He also holds a BS in Computer Science, Cum Laude, from Florida State University.

Mr. Tang, 48, a CPA, was previously Chief Financial Officer of HCFP Brenner Securities LLC and also held various financial and accounting positions at Brenner Securities Corp. and Southwest Capital LLC.  He received a MBA in Finance from Baruch College and a BBA in Accounting from Pace University.
