PRESS RELEASE
SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – June 19, 2013) – GetGoing, the innovative personalized travel search and booking engine, today announced that Frank Morogiello, a 30-year travel industry veteran, has joined the company as its Chief Supply Officer. Frank’s extensive airline industry experience includes 26 years with American Airlines, most recently as the company’s VP of Global Sales.
“Frank’s track record of developing long-standing partnerships with suppliers and distributors will prove invaluable to our continued growth,” said Alek Vernitsky, Co-Founder and CEO of GetGoing. “With his history of creating and growing cutting-edge programs that never existed before, Frank is a natural fit with the innovative spirit we embody here at GetGoing.”
“With 26 years on the airline side, I was immediately drawn to GetGoing because it has developed — perhaps for the first time — a better way to accommodate the discretionary traveler while also making the suppliers happy with its Pick Two, Get One™ product. That, combined with its FlightFinder product for personalized travel search, make GetGoing a truly innovative distribution channel for its airline partners,” said Frank Morogiello, Chief Supply Officer at GetGoing. “GetGoing’s technology is also much faster and more efficient than the incumbents’ products. GetGoing is blowing the old Captain Kirk out of the water, and I’m excited to be joining the new frontier of travel.”
During his tenure at American Airlines, Frank held a number of roles with increasing responsibility spanning both operational and commercial portions of the business. As the VP of Global Sales, he led a large team of executives focused on driving sales from major corporate, agency, military, group and meeting accounts. Frank was also instrumental in the creation and implementation of the oneworld® and alliance sales programs, where he directed the establishment of new business lines and operations with American’s 27 alliance partners.
“Frank is an industry veteran who is universally respected by both colleagues and competitors alike,” said Fred Reid, a member of GetGoing’s Board of Directors. “Frank is acutely aware of the intricacies of the airline business, and he has been a trusted advisor in the industry for three decades. His experience will be a huge asset to GetGoing.”
Frank also serves on the board of directors for the Texas Tourism Industry Association as well as the Business Travel News Board, and he has been a featured speaker and panelist at top aviation and travel conferences around the world. The hiring of Frank comes on the heels of GetGoing adding experienced airline executive Fred Reid and accomplished finance executive Nilesh Lakhani to its corporate Board of Directors, and is in addition to GetGoing’s accomplished Board of Advisors.
