BEIJING (Reuters) – Kevin Wang, founder of NPEA Capital, a private equity fund owned by French bank Natixis (CNAT.PA), has left the firm this week, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said on Friday.
Wang, who is also NPEA’s chief partner, set up the fund in 1999. It manages 96 million euros of assets and has invested in the world’s largest solar module maker, Suntech Power Holdings Co STP.O, and Chinese solar wafer maker LDK Solar Co Ltd (LDK.N).
The source did not give the reason for Wang’s departure and did not want to be identified ahead of an expected public announcement.
Three calls to a spokesman of NPEA Capital in Shanghai went unanswered.
As the fourth-largest bank in France, Natixis has more than three billion euros of assets under management across the world, according to its website.
