InterMedia Partners VII, L.P. is merging Cine Latino Inc. and InterMedia Espanol Holdings with Azteca Acquisition Corp. The deal is valued at approximately $400 million. The new company will be called Hemisphere Media Group Inc., and will be based in Miami.
Investcorp, one of the Middle East's largest private equity houses, acquired a majority stake in Kansas-based information security firm, FishNet Security Inc., from Lake Capital, it said on Wednesday. The deal comes few days after Investcorp sold CCC Information Services to U.S-headquartered Leonard Green & Partners. The company had last year exited from truck and trailer parts distributor FleetPride to private equity firm TPG for over $1 billion.
Three private equity firms have gone through to the second round of bidding for R&R Ice Cream, the maker of Fab lollies and Skinny Cow ice cream, banking sources said. Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and PAI Partners are interested in buying the firm, which could fetch around 900 million euros ($1.2 billion), the sources said on Wednesday. R&R, owned by investment firm Oaktree Capital Management, said in October it was exploring strategic options that could include a sale.
Endeavour Capital has backed the recapitalization of Chandler, AZ-based Arizona Nutritional Supplements. Green Manning & Bunch served as the exclusive financial advisor to ANS in the transaction.
Gearbox Holdings, an Indianapolis-based producer of transmission, wet-wheel braking and steering components, has brought aboard David Coolidge as CEO. Coolidge was previously an EVP at Bosch Group. Gearbox is owned by Monomoy Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm.
Intermedia, a Mountain View, Calif.-based cloud services company, has acquired Telanetix, a company that specializes in hosted voice services. The aggregate price Intermedia is paying for the deal is approximately $55 million.
Value Place said Tuesday that it has secured a $100 million capital investment from Lindsay Goldberg. The transaction was finalized on Dec. 27. Value Plan, a short -term residential property franchisor, will use the funds, plus successive investments, to add at least 50 new company locations while continuing to expand its current franchise base.
L-com, a maker of wired and wireless connectivity products that's based in North Andover, Mass., has acquired MilesTek, a Denton, Tex.-company that makes network connectivity products for military and commercial end markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. L-com is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Odyssey Investment Partners.
Life Technologies, a publicly traded, Carlsbad, Calif.-based biotech company, has acquired BAC BV, a privately held company in the Netherlands that develops and manufactures protein purification products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Condusiv Technologies, a Burbank, Calif.-based software optimization company, has named Brian Olson as its CTO. Olson most recently served as a manager at EMC, where he helped drive adoption of the EMC Atmos cloud storage platform.
