SymphonyAl Group has named Leif E. Pedersen as a senior operating partner. Recently, Pedersen was CEO of BIOVIA, a business unit of Dassault Systemes.
Phoenix Rehabilitation and Health Services Inc, a provider of out-patient rehabilitation centers, has named Chris Ciatto as CEO. Previously, Ciatto was executive vice president and chief growth officer for Elior North America. Phoenix is backed by Audax.
New Enterprise Associates Inc has promoted Ed Mathers to general partner. Also, the firm has promoted Blake Wu to partner on the healthcare investing team. Mathers first joined NEA in 2008 while Wu came on board in 2014.

New York City-based Attentive, a personalized mobile messaging SaaS platform for brands and organizations, has named Harry Heymann as chief technical officer. Previously, he worked at Hometeam where he was vice president of engineering. Attentive's backers include Sequoia Capital, IVP, High Alpha, Bain Capital Ventures, Eniac Ventures and NextView Ventures.
Evercore has named Pamela G. Carlton to its board of directors. Carlton is a former managing director and associate director of U.S. equity research at JPMorgan Chase.
Lightspeed Venture Partners announced it has hired five people. Joining the team are COO David Baga and Partners Mercedes Bent, James Ephrati, Anoushka Vaswani and Rytis Vitkauskas. Bent will focus on consumer deals, while Ephrati and Vaswani will work on the growth team and Vitkauskas will be based in the U.K. and build out the firm's European practice.
Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, a Wells Fargo division, has named Dr. Rodney Altman as a managing director in its healthcare group. The appointment is effective immediately. Altman is a part-time physician at Stanford University Medical Center. He is based in San Francisco.
Swizznet, a provider of IT solutions to businesses, has named Bob Hollander as president and member of its board of directors. Previously, Hollander worked at InterVision where he was senior vice president. Swizznet is backed by Bluff Point Associates.
Irving, Texas-based TF Holdings, a software and financial services company, has promoted Ranga Kothamasu to president. Kothamasu first joined the firm in 2011 as a director of risk management. TF Holdings is backed by Sequoia and Technology Crossover Ventures.
