NGP Energy makes Carter a managing partner

NGP Energy Capital Management said late Tuesday that Chris Carter, MD and Chief Investment Coordinator, was appointed to the firm’s Executive Committee and named a Managing Partner. Robert Edwards, NGP managing director, is also relocating to Houston and will manage the firm’s office there, a statement said. The Carlyle Group is an investor of NGP, an energy investor.

IRVING, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NGP Energy Capital Management (“NGP”) announced today the following developments in its executive team. Chris G. Carter, Managing Director and Chief Investment Coordinator, has been elevated to the firm’s Executive Committee and promoted to Managing Partner. Mr. Carter joined NGP in 2004. In addition, the firm announced that Robert A. Edwards, Managing Director, will relocate to Houston to assume responsibility for managing NGP’s Houston office. Mr. Edwards joined NGP in 2009 following several years at BP and a long career at McKinsey & Co. prior to that.
