Energy and power-focused venture capital firm EnerTech Capital said it has opened a Montréal office located within the facilities of global engineering company Hatch, which is a strategic partner and investor. The firm also said that Hatch’s global managing director of technologies, Nils Voermann, will be joining EnerTech’s strategic advisory board. The firm in September closed its fourth venture fund, EnerTech Capital Partners IV LP, raising approximately $120 million.

October 1st, 2013, Montreal, Quebec – EnerTech Capital (“EnerTech”) is pleased to announce the official opening of their Montreal offices co-located within the offices of Hatch in Montreal. Hatch is a global engineering firm and a key strategic partner and investor in EnerTech Capital Partners IV, L.P. (“ECP IV”). In conjunction with their investment in ECP IV, Hatch’s Global Managing Director, Technologies, Nils Voermann will be joining the EnerTech Capital Strategic Advisory Board.
Mr. Voermann is the Global Managing Director for Hatch’s business practices which include Technologies, Environmental, Operational Services, and Consulting, and in addition manages Hatch’s operations in Central North America. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Voermann is a recognized expert in engineering design; leadership and management; energy technologies, project management; construction supervision and commissioning and start up of metallurgical furnaces and other metallurgical technologies.
With the closing of its fourth fund , EnerTech is continuing its strong focus on the Canadian market and specifically the significant investment opportunities in Quebec.
