Nixon Peabody Names New CEO

Nixon Peabody LLP has named Richard Langan Jr. as CEO and managing partner. The move becomes effective on May 1, at which point current CEO and managing partner Harry Trueheart III will become non-executive chairman. Langan joined Nixon Peabody in 1980, and most recently served as chair of its business and financial services department.



International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has named Richard F. Langan, Jr., to serve as the firm's chief executive officer and managing partner.


Mr. Langan will become leader of the firm and assume the titles of CEO and managing partner effective May 1, 2008, at which time current CEO and Managing Partner Harry P. Trueheart, III, will become the nonexecutive chairman of Nixon Peabody. While serving as CEO and managing partner, Mr. Langan will continue his legal practice in business and finance. He will be based in the firm's New York City office.


Mr. Langan has spent his entire career at Nixon Peabody. He joined the firm in 1980 as a first-year associate. Most recently he served as chair of Nixon Peabody's Business and Financial Services department, which includes the firm's securities, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, finance, and related practices. Mr. Langan will remain committed to serving the firm's securities and M&A clients while serving as CEO and managing partner.
