Norwest Equity Partners has promoted Andrew Cantwell to partner. Cantwell joined the firm in 2006 and became a principal two years later.

MINNEAPOLIS, MI –(Marketwired – July 06, 2016) – Norwest Equity Partners (“NEP”), a leading middle market investment firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Cantwell to Partner.
Over the years, Cantwell has played an instrumental role in both the buy-side and sell-side investment process for the firm. Cantwell joined the NEP team in 2006 and was promoted to Principal in 2008 just two years after joining the firm. Prior to joining NEP, he worked at Northwestern Mutual Capital in the firm’s Private Equity and Mezzanine Group. His career experience also includes working as a Vice President at ABN AMRO where he led and closed multiple leveraged and project finance transactions, totaling over $7 billion, across North America, Latin America, and Asia.
In his role at NEP, Cantwell is involved with all aspects of the investment process including sourcing and leading investment opportunities, performing due diligence, structuring transactions, and arranging debt financing. He is also involved at the board level with several of NEP’s current portfolio companies, working with management teams on strategic planning and execution and other operational initiatives.
Cantwell’s current board memberships include Edge Fitness, Marco, Minnesota Rubber & Plastics, Movati Athletic, and Stanton Carpet Corporation. Notable past investments for Andy include Imperial Supplies, Lindstrom Metric, and Momentum Group.
Cantwell holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
