Novacap, Northleaf invest in Syntax Systems’ buy of Core Services

Syntax Systems, acquired last year by Canadian private equity firm Novacap, has bought Core Services Corp, a Somerset, New Jersey-based provider of hosting, cloud and consulting services for Oracle applications. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which was funded by Novacap, Northleaf Capital Partners and other investors. The combination of Syntax, a Montréal provider of enterprise-resource-planning software, and Core Services marks a key step toward creating “the leading provider of cloud-based ERP services,” Novacap Senior Partner Ted Mocarski said. Novacap is currently raising its fifth mid-market technology fund, targeted at $600 million.

Montreal, Quebec – April 18, 2017: Syntax Systems (“Syntax”), a leading provider of cloud managed ERP services, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Core Services Corporation (“Core Services”). Together, the combined entities will create one of the leading North American technology services firms offering best in class cloud managed services, application managed services and consulting services for Enterprise Resource Planning (‘’ERP’’) applications employed by mid and large enterprises.

The acquisition was financed with equity provided by NOVACAP with participation from Private Advisors and Northleaf Capital, and members of the Syntax and Core Services management teams. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The new combined entity will have employees in offices across the USA, Canada, India and Argentina. Syntax is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec and Core Services in Somerset, New Jersey.
