Oaktree Capital Management has named Managing Director Jerilyn Castillo McAniff as head of diversity and inclusion. In this new role, McAniff will lead the firm’s efforts to increase the number of women and members of underrepresented groups in investment and officer-level ranks while solidifying Oaktree’s commitment to D&I at every level of the firm. Prior to Oaktree, McAniff worked at J.P. Morgan.
LOS ANGELES—June 8, 2021—Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”) today announced that Jerilyn Castillo McAniff, Managing Director, has been named Oaktree’s Head of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). In this new role, Ms. McAniff will lead Oaktree’s efforts to increase the number of women and members of underrepresented groups in investment and officer-level ranks, solidify Oaktree’s commitment to D&I at every level of the firm, enhance recruitment and retention programs, and improve diversity in portfolio companies and their boards of directors. She will report to Chief Executive Officer Jay Wintrob with a dotted line to Co-Chairman Howard Marks.

Ms. McAniff has served for the last five years as the co-head of Oaktree’s Diversity & Inclusion Council. She first joined the firm’s U.S. High Yield Bond group in 2008 and has worked since then as a senior analyst, and she served a term as Co-Director of Research. Before joining Oaktree, Ms. McAniff co-authored The Practitioner’s Guide to Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and spent five years at J.P. Morgan as a member of the Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions group. Ms. McAniff currently serves as a director of Hope Street Friends and on the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA) Committee of the board of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. She received a B.S. degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
