Ontario Teachers’ Glen Silvestri joins Imperial Capital as partner

Glen Silvestri has been named a partner at Canadian mid-market private equity firm Imperial Capital Group. Silvestri previously served for nearly 13 years in the private equity group of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. While at Teachers, he headed up investment activity in telecom, media, technology and energy and power divisions, and chaired the group’s investment committee. In March, the Toronto-based Imperial Capital closed its fifth fund, Imperial Capital Acquisition Fund V, raising $295 million in total, exceeding its $250 million target.

Imperial Capital welcomes Glen Silvestri to Investment Team

TORONTO, July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ – Imperial Capital Group Ltd., a leading Canadian middle market private equity firm, today announced Glen Silvestri has joined the company as a Partner.

Mr. Silvestri joins Imperial Capital after nearly 13 years with the private equity group of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan at a time when the invested assets grew 10-fold. He has a long and successful track record of investments in the business services, information technology and media space, which added over $1 billion in value for Teachers. His most recent role at Teachers was as Head of Telecom, Media, Technology and Energy & Power investing, where he also chaired the investment committee during some of the group’s most successful years.
