Novacap to sell hosting provider iWeb to Internap for $145 mln

Montréal-based iWeb Inc, a global provider of Internet hosting solutions and IT infrastructure, has agreed to be bought by Atlanta, Georgia-based Internap Network Services Corp (NASDAQ: INAP) for approximately US$145 million. According to Internap, the deal is expected to close in December 2013. Founded in 1996, iWeb currently serves 10,000 SMB customers in over 100 countries. The company was taken private for $47 million in June 2011 by Novacap Technologies, a private equity fund managed by Longueuil, Québec-based Novacap, with the participation of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, and an investment vehicle affiliated with Bank Street Capital Partners.


Novacap Sells Montreal-based Hosting Provider iWeb to Internap

MONTREAL, Oct. 30, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ – Novacap, one of Canada’s leading private equity firms, is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Atlanta-based IT infrastructure service provider Internap for the sale of the hosting and cloud provider, iWeb. Evaluated at $145M, this transaction will allow both Internap and iWeb to grow their market shares and their services portfolio to offer a complete range of IaaS to companies at every stage, from start-ups to multinationals.

iWeb’s leading position as an international cloud hosting company combined with proven online sales channel and multi-lingual capabilities will enable Internap to provide a broader range of infrastructure capabilities with additional price points and configurations to the global SMB segment.
