Impero Software – a company providing sophisticated software products to the education sector – has appointed Sam Pemberton as its new CEO, and Darren Forster as the new CTO to lead the company’s expansion and future solution development.
The company is backed by private equity house Connection Capital of London, and has full-service offices in the United Kingdom and the United States. Pemberton, who most recently worked as an advisor to VC and private equity companies looking to improve shareholder returns, has years of experience leading tech companies to strong levels of international growth. In this role, he doubled profits each year from 2010 to 2013 and led the Group through a successful M&A exit process, culminating in a trade sale to Belden which delivered 12x returns to Softel shareholders.
In his new role, Pemberton will draw upon his extensive experience of increasing international sales, particularly in the US, to drive Impero’s international growth strategy. On his appointment, Pemberton comments: “I am thrilled to be joining Impero’s impressive team at such an exciting time of growth for the company. Its innovative e-safety platform is at the frontline of online safety initiatives for schools worldwide, and I look forward to introducing Impero, and its range of remote monitoring and management solutions, to educators internationally.”
Impero has also appointed Darren Forster as its new CTO. Forster has held a range of director and VP positions in technology companies, giving him unrivalled technical experience alongside strong commercial understanding. Like Pemberton, Forster has previously worked internationally including in the United States, and at his last company grew sales from his product lines to in excess of $25 million worldwide.
