Mississauga, Ontario-based Match Marketing Group (Match MG), a brand engagement and shopper marketing agency, has purchased for an undisclosed amount retail merchandiser Convergence Marketing Inc of Baltimore, Maryland. The acquisition of Convergence is the company’s eighth in less than two years. Businesses bought in recent months include Marketing Drive, Marketing Weld Digital and SVM. Match MG is a portfolio company of Beringer Capital, a Canadian private equity firm focused on the marketing services and specialty media industry.
Match Marketing Group Acquires Convergence Marketing
TORONTO, Oct. 3, 2013 /CNW/ – Match Marketing Group continues its rapid two-year growth with the acquisition of retail merchandising agency Convergence Marketing Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland.
The addition of Convergence, the eighth acquisition in less than two years, is part of Match MG’s plan to become the most effective and integrated retail marketing agency in North America.
Convergence is the leading cosmetics and beauty care merchandising solutions company in the U.S with 5,000 field staff, working with marketers such as Procter & Gamble and L’Oreal and retailer names such as Wal-Mart and Kroger. Last spring it implemented programs in more than 17,000 stores nationally. Convergence is also a major in-store service supplier across a variety of other categories including candy, gift cards and apparel.
