Northern Agri Holdings LLC, a portfolio company of Lariat Partners, has sold Billings, Montana-based WestFeeds LLC, a provider of animal feed and nutritional products for cattle, equine, poultry, sheep, swine, goats, and companion animals. The buyer was Ridley USA. No financial terms were disclosed.
DENVER, May 31, 2017 – Lariat Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm, announced the sale of WestFeeds, LLC (WestFeeds or the Company), a subsidiary of Lariat’s portfolio company Northern Agri Holdings, LLC, to Ridley USA.
Based in Billings, Montana, WestFeeds is a leading manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of animal feed and nutritional products and offers feed, mineral premixes, and supplements for cattle, equine, poultry, sheep, swine, goats, and companion animals. The Company operates out of three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities (two in Billings and one in Great Falls) as well as five retail locations throughout Montana. WestFeeds also markets its animal nutrition products through an extensive network of dealers in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.
Ridley, a subsidiary of Alltech, is based in Mankato, Minnesota, and is one of the leading commercial animal nutrition companies in North America. Ridley serves customers ranging from those who produce meat, milk, and eggs, to those with specialty and companion animals and niche segments from show feed customers to lifestyle farmers.

Based in Great Falls, MT, Northern Agri Holdings’ remaining business segments include Northern Seed, a distributor of certified seed and provider of other seed services; and Northern Agri Brands, which owns, develops, and markets various forage crop seed genetics.
