PE-backed Sterling Infosystems announces new hires

Sterling Infosystems, which is backed by Calera Capital, has named Roland Lessard as chief product officer and Vikas Vig as executive vice president of global operations. Prior to joining Sterling, Lessard worked at Valassis Communications and Saint-Gobain while Vig is is one of the founding members of the Indian Association of Professional Background Screeners. Based in New York, Sterling Infosystems is a provider of employment and background screening services.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sterling Infosystems, the world’s most trusted background check company, today announced two important leadership changes to help accelerate the company’s global growth: the appointments of Chief Product Officer and Executive Vice President of Global Operations.
Roland Lessard has been appointed to the newly created position of chief product officer. Lessard, a highly accomplished change leader with more than 12 years of experience in business transformation and M&A, will drive the company’s ambitious product development strategy. Since joining Sterling in 2008, he has served as senior vice president of Mergers/Acquisitions & Transition Services responsible for the integration of newly acquired companies. Prior to that, Lessard held operational leadership roles at Valassis Communications and Saint-Gobain. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Western New England.
Sterling has also consolidated its global operations and named Vikas Vig executive vice president of Global Operations, in addition to his current role of chief executive officer of Sterling India. In this expanded role, Vig will ensure that Sterling’s operational centers around the world are aligned to deliver high quality, timely client service. As chief executive officer of Sterling India since 2006, Vig has led the company’s efforts to develop a state-of-the-art operational center in Mumbai. He holds a BS degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Mumbai and is one of the founding members of the Indian Association of Professional Background Screeners (IAPBS).
