PE-backed STX Entertainment appoints chief communications officer

Next-generation media company STX Entertainment has hired Patricia Röckenwagner as chief communications officer. Her appointment becomes effective January 17, 2017. Previously, she worked at Advance Vixeid Partners. STX’s backers include TPG Growth, Hony Capital and DNS Capital.

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sophie Watts, President of STX Entertainment (“STX” or “the Company”), a global next-generation media company, today announced the appointment of Patricia Röckenwagner to the newly created executive role of Chief Communications Officer, effective January 17, 2017.

Röckenwagner will be part of the Company’s management team and the principal executive responsible for advancing the Company’s positioning as a unique global innovator in the development, financing, production, marketing and distribution of a full range of both traditional and digital content including film, television, VR, digital video, music video and gaming projects.

Röckenwagner comes to STX from Advance Vixeid Partners, the independent investment arm of Advance Publications and Condé Nast. She previously led corporate branding and communications for Condé Nast and before that, held senior executive communications and branding positions at McGraw Hill Financial (now S&P Global), Paramount Pictures, Time Warner Cable, Comcast and AT&T. She started her career in politics, working for Senators Ted Kennedy in Washington, DC, Art Torres in Sacramento and Tom Hayden in Los Angeles.

A graduate of University of California at Berkeley, Röckenwagner speaks four languages and is a trained sommelier. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Chef Hans Röckenwagner.
