Stonepeak-backed Xplornet mulls Freedom Mobile bid: G&M

Xplornet Communications is in talks with Rogers Communications about a possible bid to acquire Freedom Mobile, Shaw Communications' wireless business, the Globe and Mail reported.

Xplornet Communications is in talks with Rogers Communications about a possible bid to acquire Freedom Mobile, Shaw Communications’ wireless business, the Globe and Mail reported. The publication earlier reported that Globalive Capital made a bid to buy Freedom Mobile for C$3.75 billion. Woodstock, New Brunswick-based Xplornet, a rural-focused broadband services company, is backed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
