Pelican Products said Monday that Stephan Corti was named President of its Commercial (Industrial, Fire Safety, Law Enforcement) and Government Division, while Bob Shortt was appointed President of the Consumer Division. Pelican is a portfolio company of Behrman Capital.
TORRANCE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Following the announcement of Dave Williams’ appointment to President of its Pelican BioThermal™ Division, Pelican Products, the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting systems, has appointed presidents for the remaining two newly structured divisions:
- Traditional Commercial (Industrial, Fire Safety, Law Enforcement) and Government Division
- Newly established Consumer Division, focusing on the Pelican ProGear™ product line as well as the consumer electronics, sporting goods, photography and dive markets
Stephan Corti will oversee every facet of Pelican’s business in its traditional (Industrial, Fire Safety, Law Enforcement and Government) markets and brings more than 20 years of international sales and marketing management experience to his new role. Prior to his promotion, he served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Pelican. Before joining Pelican he was Technicolor’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing after being promoted from the same position in Europe. Additionally, his experience includes several executive sales positions with international companies including Nimbus, Allied Signal and HILTI.

Corti is fluent in English, French, Italian and German and holds an advanced degree from the Harvard Business School (Executive Education Program), an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University – School of Business and a Ph.D. and Masters from the Universite de Nice-Sophia Antipolis.
Bob Shortt will oversee all aspects of Pelican’s Consumer Division with a heavy emphasis on sales, marketing and business development. He will be focusing on the Pelican ProGear™ product line as well as traditional cases and lighting products for the sporting goods, consumer electronic devices, photography and dive markets.

He brings more than 30 years of sales, product management and marketing experience to his new position. Prior to joining Pelican, Shortt most recently oversaw the entry into the tablet case market for Targus Incorporated and managed their exclusive global supply relationship with Dell. His career has also seen him working with industry leading companies that include Black & Decker (Kwikset and Price Pfister divisions), CSK Auto (Kragen, Checkers and Shucks brands) and Waterpik Technologies. Shortt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
