Peter Michel Joins Seguin Partners

Peter Michel has joined private equity firm Seguin Partners as an operating partner. He is a serial CEO, including with Brink's Home Security.

Seguin Partners (“Seguin“) is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Michel as an Operating Partner at the firm. Peter joins an accomplished group of business leaders already in this role at Seguin including Alan Glass, Joe Fleming and David Pliner.

 

Mr. Michel is an accomplished senior executive with a career distinguished by achievement in both business and government. Throughout his career, Mr. Michel has developed strong skills in growing companies using innovative applications of technology, strategy development, executive team building and turnaround management.

 

He has led five companies as CEO, including Brink's Home Security where during his tenure he transformed the company from a $26 million security firm to a $258 million leader in high-tech home protection services, supporting over 700,000 households in more than 100 markets and 42 states. Mr. Michel established Brink's Home Security as the industry's service and quality leader and achieved record operating profits for 12 years in a row. Since leaving Brinks in early 2002, Mr. Michel has served as President and CEO of iSecureTrac Corp., General Fiber Communications and NEP Broadcasting, LLC. Prior to Brinks Home Security, Mr. Michel was the CEO of Penn Central Technical Security and held several key strategic positions at American Standard and Gulf Oil.

 

In addition to his operating roles, Mr. Michel has held the position of chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council of the Security Industry Association. He has also chaired numerous nonprofit boards and currently serves on several corporate boards.

Mr. Michel's public sector experience includes serving as a member of the White House staff earlier in his career, as well as serving in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Mr. Michel also served as a U.S. Navy Surface Officer aboard the aircraft carrier Coral Sea and the guided missile destroyer Conyngham, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant.

 

Peter earned his B.S. in Political Science from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York and his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He has also completed the Stanford Business School's Executive Program in Strategy and Organization.
