Peterson Private Equity has closed its ninth fund at $225 million. The fund will make investments between $10 million and $25 million.

SALT LAKE CITY – Peterson Private Equity announced the closing of a $225 million fund focused on investing $10-25 million behind entrepreneurs and management teams in profitable and growth-oriented businesses.

“We are passionate about helping great people build great businesses,” said Clint Peterson, Managing Partner of Peterson Partners. “We are thrilled to raise this latest fund to continue supporting these great entrepreneurs.”

Peterson Private Equity, the flagship fund of the Peterson Partners platform, was one of the earliest funds established in Mountain West region. Peterson Private Equity has invested in several notable deals in the state of Utah over the past several decades, including Packsize, InMoment, Blue Raven Solar, EnergySolutions and Vivint.

“We strive to be the partner of choice for business owners who are solving for more than just capital,” said Brett Stohlton, Operating Partner at Peterson Private Equity. “We look to help companies reach important inflection points in becoming an enduring business, often as the first source of institutional capital.”

With the close of Fund IX, Peterson Private Equity intends to make approximately 10-12 investments. Peterson Private Equity recently led the institutional investment round for Breeze Airways, a new low-cost leisure-focused airline, started by JetBlue founder David Neeleman.

“Breeze represents what Peterson Partners is all about: helping build an impactful business behind an incredible entrepreneur, especially one we have known and partnered with before,” said Clint Peterson. “We are excited to be backing David again, and that Breeze will be our first portfolio investment in Fund IX.”

“We invest in people, and we are especially grateful when those people invest in us as they add significant value to the network and portfolio,” Clint Peterson added. “It’s one of the ways that we look to build an ecosystem of exceptional entrepreneurs who can add value to one another.”

Headquartered in Utah, Peterson Private Equity is part of the Peterson Partners platform, an independent investment manager with over $1.1 billion assets under management.
