New York-based investment firm Pine Brook, has appointed Andre Burba as managing director on the energy investment team. Burba joined Pine Brook in 2008 as a principal with the energy team. He has been involved in Pine Brook’s investments in Phoenix Exploration Company, Common Resources, Common Resources II and Forge Energy.

Pine Brook, a New York-based investment firm focused on building businesses in the energy and financial services sectors, today announced Andre Burba has been named a managing director on the energy investment team.

Burba joined Pine Brook in 2008 as a principal with the energy team. He has been deeply involved in Pine Brook’s investments in Phoenix Exploration Company, Common Resources, Common Resources II and Forge Energy.

Prior to joining Pine Brook, Burba worked for Credit Suisse as a principal investor in the Special Opportunities Group, where he was responsible for investments in energy, metals and mining, renewables, and oil and gas. He began his career as a project finance counsel at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, representing energy companies and investors in a variety of domestic and cross-border capital raises, acquisitions and restructurings.
Burba holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, as well as a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Music, summa cum laude, from West Virginia University.
