Post Capital Partners-Backed BHS Acquires Steam Engineering

BHS Specialty Chemicals, a portfolio company of Post Capital Partners, said Monday that it has acquired Steam Engineering. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Vancouver, WA, Steam Engineering is a provider of cleaning and sanitation chemicals for the food processing, engineering and wastewater treatment sectors.

NAMPA, ID, August 19, 2013 – BHS Specialty Chemicals, a specialty chemical manufacturer and distributor focused on food safety and water treatment solutions, today announced it has acquired Steam Engineering (SEI), a Vancouver, WA-based provider of cleaning and sanitation chemicals for the food processing industry, water and wastewater treatment chemicals, engineering services and equipment.
Phil Johnson, Chairman and CEO of BHS, said, “We are very excited about the SEI acquisition. The addition of SEI strengthens BHS’ geographic presence in the Northwest region and enhances our cleaning and sanitation offerings, as well as our engineering know-how. This is the second growth acquisition that BHS has made since Mr. Johnson and Post Capital Partners acquired BHS in July 2010 under Post Capital’s “Executive-First” strategy, in which it partners with senior industry executives in sourcing, evaluating and managing portfolio companies.
