PRESS RELEASE
Barrier Advisors, Inc., a nationally recognized middle-market investment banking, corporate finance, restructuring and performance improvement firm, announces the appointment of Harrison L. Price as senior managing director and president of the firm.
According to Jeff Jones, a managing director at Barrier Advisors, Price joins Barrier at a strategically opportune time. “We’re coming off a record year in 2010,” said Jones. “Given our continued growth and expansion, it became imperative that we strengthen our leadership team.”
“With 20 years of experience in M&A advisory and corporate finance, Harrison’s investment banking and capital markets background will open new doors for Barrier, while increasing momentum to our strategic initiatives,” added Jones.
Price’s appointment adds a complementary level of extensive buy-side and sell-side deal management experience for private and public companies. He has completed more than 60 financial advisory engagements spanning most major industry groups, and has also arranged numerous private capital transactions with institutional debt and equity sources.
“Harrison joins Barrier at an important juncture that follows accelerated demand for the company’s services over the last 18 months,” said Jones. “Barrier Advisors grew more than 41 percent in 2010, making it the most productive period of growth in the firm’s history.” Of its more notable transactions, Barrier acted as a financial advisor in a going private transaction for American Homepatient, performed a sale via bankruptcy of AMES Holding Corporation, and handled a restructuring and acquisition for Cornerstone Healthcare Group. Barrier was also the financial advisor to Triad Resources, Inc., facilitating a bankruptcy sale and a plan of reorganization.
Prior to joining Barrier, Price was a managing director on the special situations team at BDO Capital Advisors. In previous positions, he headed the M&A and capital markets groups for XRoads Solutions Group, LLC, a national restructuring and turnaround firm, and for KPMG Corporate Finance LLC’s Southwest Region, which provided services to non-distressed private companies.
Price received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, each from the University of North Carolina.
