Private Equity Jobs of the Week: IAC, StepStone, Barings are hiring

Media and internet company IAC is recruiting a director, mergers and acquisitions. The M&A group works with the Office of the Chairman to identify, evaluate and execute transactions and investments for IAC and its portfolio companies. The director will be expected to lead all aspects of deals, from idea generation through valuation, due diligence and negotiation of legal documentation. Candidates need a minimum of five to seven years in private equity, venture capital, corporate M&A, or investment banking, with demonstrated experience in modeling, analysis and research in heavily-transactional situations. Willingness to travel is essential. The position is located in New York.

StepStone is seeking candidates for an associate or senior associate position on the firm’s private equity research team. The role involves performing market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases, interpreting financial analyzes prepared by target fund managers, financial modeling including basic leveraged buyout and cash-flow analysis, and supporting senior research staff on sourcing and managing the inflow of investment opportunities. Requirements include two to five years of private equity, investment banking, consulting or other relevant experience. The position is located in New York.

The State of New Mexico is looking to hire a private equity investment analyst. Responsibilities include monitoring day-to-day activities of the private equity program including transactions, status reports, portfolio performance, research, analysis, evaluation and recommendations regarding investment strategies and individual investment positions. Candidates need four years of work experience in institutional investing, pension fund management, trust fund management or applied mathematics. The position is located in Santa Fe.

Barings Alternative Investments, part of the MassMutual Financial Group, is in the market for a private equity investment professional. The hire will be responsible for supporting client portfolios of private equity funds and co-investments, performing market research and analysis, and handling investor requests for information. Candidates need at least two years of experience in private equity, consulting, investment banking or a similar field; progress towards Chartered Financial Analyst designation is preferred. The position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lewis & Clark Capital, a firm that represents the interests of a single-family office, is searching for a private equity analyst intern. Responsibilities include researching selected sectors, companies and market segments to identify potential investments, developing long-term financial models of investment opportunities, collaborating with external advisors to conduct in-depth analyses, providing assistance in transaction administration, and working with portfolio companies as they execute business plans. Candidates should have a strong interest in a private equity career and an equal desire to live and work in St. Louis; MBA desired.
