Private Equity Jobs of the Week: The NBA, JPMorgan and Kian Capital are hiring

The National Basketball Association is searching for a director, global strategy. The hire will be responsible for strategic, commercial, and financial evaluation and implementation of a broad range of business initiatives across the NBA, WNBA and D-League. This will include supporting organic and acquisition-driven growth in existing and new business lines across domestic and international markets. A minimum of eight years of work experience is required, including at least three years in consulting, banking, private equity, or media corporate finance at a top-tier company/firm. MBA preferred. The position is located in New York.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a senior associate on its strategic investments team. The role entails partnering with line of business executives, other banks and market structure players to analyze and execute strategic market structure/financial technology principal investments. The successful candidate will have corporate finance, problem solving, influencing, and relationship building skills, as well as experience at a leading firm in fintech investment banking/M&A or principal investing (private equity or venture capital). The position is located in New York.

Kian Capital is seeking to hire its first business development professional. Responsibilities include sourcing new investment opportunities, both platform and add-on; initial screening of qualified opportunities; maintaining relationships with existing sources of deal flow (e.g., business brokers and investment bankers); developing new sources of deal flow within the intermediary universe; and managing internal CRM/deal pipeline and producing monthly reporting for firm review. A minimum of four to six years in business development – with a preference for direct experience in private equity, investment banking or commercial banking – is required. Bravia Capital is in the market for a vice president – advisory services, M&A. Duties include screening acquisition candidates, negotiating initial terms, forecasting and modeling transactions, structuring and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, coordinating due diligence processes, supervising counsels and directing transaction documentation, executing closing processes, and working with domestic and foreign debt capital sources. Candidates need seven to ten years of significant business experience with an investment bank, private equity fund, hedge fund or corporate development (M&A) organization. Preference for knowledge of Mandarin and experience in Bravia’s areas of expertise (transportation, logistics and distribution). The position is located in New York.

William Blair is looking for a summer associate. The successful candidate will take on all functions of a full-time associate, including extensive deal execution (mergers and acquisitions, public equity offerings, and private equity placements), with increasing accountability for transaction oversight, client relationship management, and new business development. The summer program also includes internal training, community service, and social events. The firm hopes to have all its summer associates join full-time after their MBA graduation (between December 2018 and June 2019). The position is located in Chicago.
