Private Equity Jobs of the Week: SEC, State Street, UBS are hiring

A weekly roundup of jobs in the private equity industry – from buyout shops to venture capital funds to investment banks.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has an opening for a securities compliance examiner in the Private Funds Unit within the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. The successful candidate will serve as a senior specialized examiner regarding the private equity industry, conducting difficult and sensitive examinations. Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level, such as providing technical expertise in portfolio management, structuring and trading equities, or conducting manager due diligence. The position is located in Boston, Chicago, New York or San Francisco.

State Street is seeking a vice president, private equity fund administration. The hire will be responsible for providing overall direction to department managers and staff. Duties include managing relationships with clients and reviewing and approving all transactions (money movement, trades, etc.). Candidates need 15 or more years of accounting and/or financial service operations experience, including three to four years in a managerial position. Solid business unit management specifically in the private equity industry is required. MBA and/or CPA is a plus. The position is located in Princeton, New Jersey.

UBS is recruiting an investment analyst, infrastructure and private equity. The hire will participate in origination and execution of infrastructure investment opportunities in the energy, utilities, and transportation sectors. Duties include financial and risk analysis, in-depth due diligence, portfolio management, and market and news research. Applicants should have three years of experience in investment banking or principal investing, including one year in the energy, utilities, and transportation sectors. Arma Partners is looking to fill two openings, for an M&A analyst and associate. Candidates should have a strong drive to progress as an M&A banker and a genuine interest in the communications, media and technology sector. Responsibilities include sector coverage, in-depth valuation analysis, building complex models, and producing client presentations. Requirements include one to three years of experience for the analyst (New York-based) and three to six years for the associate (located in London).

Kian Capital is looking to hire a pre-MBA associate. The successful candidate will support senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management. Responsibilities include financial analysis, working with management teams, conducting industry research, and assisting with monitoring of portfolio companies. Applicants should have at least two to four years of experience in lending/credit underwriting or investment banking; middle-market experience is a plus.
